Hello ….

The sun rises and sets; the seasons come and go; life marches ever forward and then it ends – thump. Over. Done. Gone!  No more the cursing of the early morning light and the rising from bed in the semi-dark to get ready to cycle/ski. Enjoy now the bitter and the sweet; savour all, especially the hard effort that makes you feel alive; and think kindly on your fellow sojourner.

Here’s the latest on Rules of the Road. Still confusing re double paceline riding. The OBC recommends this. Hard to know. Read this courtesy of Alastair – Bike Laws of Ontario Explained:

“I have been into the lumber-yard, and the carpenter’s shop, and the tannery, and the lampblack factory, and the turpentine clearing; but when at length I saw the tops of the pines waving and reflecting the light at a distance high over all the rest of the forest, I realized that the former were not the highest use of the pine. It is not their bones or hide or tallow that I love most. It is the living spirit of the tree, not its spirit of turpentine, with which I sympathize, and which heals my cuts. It is as immortal as I am, and perchance will go to as high a heaven, there to tower above me still.” hdt
