July 21/18: Stinsons two Riders

Hello there –

Wow. Wowie, even. When did you last say that? As a kid, probably running to the kitchen to tell your mum about the latest antics of Road Runner and Coyote. Well, that was my exclamation after three big loops of the Gatineau this morning. What fun! And, what a five-some of cyclists, led capably by Blair and Tim up and down and up and over the rollers and climbs of Pink, Black’s, Fortune, and the two Penguins, plus an unnamed tough sob of a climb on Chemin Kinsgmere. You know, you just should have been there.

There is no argument that hills are the cream on the sweet dessert that’s cycling. We had a sugar high to-day, without the deleterious consequences – no twitchiness or spasms or lassitude aftermath. You just can’t beat the elation of reaching the top of a difficult climb and the glee of the long, downhill run that follows. You’ll just want to be there next time.

Okay, here’s the plan for Sunday: 7:00 am

1) 7:00 am 7:00 am Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for a 7:00 am 7:00 am start and ride to Pakenham for sticky buns and coffee (Km 46) on the front steps of the General Store. Distance 67 Kms; elevation gain 352 Metres.

Ask yourself, where else would you rather be when the alarm rings on Sunday morning than on your bicycle pedalling away the fatty bits? You know you’ll just want to be there.
