Hello. This is just a heads-up that I won’t be around in April to send blog posts about weekend rides. That being the case, I’ll leave you to get together on what ever basis you decide. I will be back for the weekend of April 28/29, and I expect to ride both days, assuming my return flight connections go as planned.

All this brings me to proposed changes to the ride format in May, or at the latest in June after the RLCT. I haven’t had much written feedback to my request for comments (March 01) about routes, meeting times, venue, etc. I do, however, know from casual conversation (and the odd remark) that many of you feel the rides are getting stale, the chosen roads busy and rough, and the two-minute warning restrictive – all this to say that you find me ‘old in my ways’, my routine too rigid, and lacking in spontaneity. That being the case, I propose that we rotate the weekend responsibility for route creation, start time, and venue so that everyone gets an opportunity to have a say in what we do and when we do it, etc. You’ll have an opportunity to do this during my absence. We might as well just carry on in the same way when I return. The only difference being that I’ll still create a blog post of the route on Friday and Saturday afternoons to spread the word further afield. In any event, something to think about during my absence. We can come up with a ‘rider in charge’ schedule upon my return.

Regarding the May 27 Grand Fondo in Mount Tremblant, there appears to be no interest in this: https://www.granfondotremblant.ca/en/site/

Other rides to pencil into your calendar:

Tour de Whitewater July 07 from Westmeath – https://tourdewhitewater.blogspot.ca/

Tour de Bonnechere August from Eganville. No details yet but last year it was on Aug 20, 2017
