Hello. “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better. (SB)

Wrong call (Big Time) on the weather this morning. Tried, but got it wrong. Should have gone with my gut feeling rather than logic. One never knows. Enough looking back, however,

What about Sunday. That’s an easier call, with no caveats. Clear sky, sunshine, mid teens but windy.

Here’s the tentative plan: (subject to rider consensus)

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:30 am 7:30 am start and ride to Douglas via Russett, Stewartville, Anderson, Miller, L-W, Gillan, Opeongo, #132, Stone Rd, Kennelly to Douglas; home via S. McNaughton, Butler, #60, to Tim’s on O’Brien for coffee (Km 79), then Whitton, Gillan, L-W, Stevenson, etc. Total distance 110 kms; 606 Metres climbing. This is option 1) Douglas

Or, Option 2) Haley Station via Russett, Stewartville, Anderson, Miller, L-W, Gillan, Opeongo, S McNaughton, Butler, #60, Chenaux, Storyland, Pinnacle, GoE, Castleford, RR, Stevenson, etc for a total distance of 102 kms. No coffee but a stop after 59 kms at the Four Crns; home via Storyland, Pinnacle, GoE, Castleford, RR, Stevenson, etc for a total distance of 102 kms.

Route one takes us away from our usual territory. It’s my first choice. And, the choice of my Editor! We may need a road boss for the return from Douglas, as one of our stalwart regulars has other plans.

Our training goal is to gain power and strength and to build upon our existing endurance base. As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road.

Weather: mid teens, mixed sun and cloud; POP 10%; winds NW 20.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.

Don’t Give Up Till It’s Over

Don`t give up till it`s over, don`t quit if you can
The weight on your shoulder will make you a stronger man
Grasp your nettle tightly, though it will burn
Treat your failures lightly, your luck is bound to turn
Don`t give up till it`s over, don`t quit if you can
The weight on your shoulder will make you a stronger man

Look at the autumn flowers how they wither and fade
With nature`s hidden powers, next year they`ll be re-made
Don`t give up till it`s over, don`t quit if you can

The weight on your shoulder will make you a stronger man
Watch the full moon rising, like a ghost of the sun
Oh, dawn will be more surprising, when a new day has begun

Don`t give up till it`s over, don`t quit if you can
The weight on your shoulder will make you a stronger man     johnny duhan
