Awesome – Awesome – Awesome – Awesome

Hello. This time last week we were anticipating the RLCT. That was then; this is now. Present is past. Looking forward becomes looking back – the thing contemplated now the thing done. One year becomes another and another and another; and a baby born in the darkness becomes a boy by breakfast; becomes a youth by noon, and a man by dinner; middle-aged by dessert; elderly by sunset; dead at midnight. One day, one lifetime. That fast. Enjoy and celebrate; labour and make music; give thanks; breath and smile; “peace is every step.”

Congratulations to all for a marvellous tour.

Here’s the tentative plan for Saturday: Rain or shine –

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:30 am 7:30 am start and ride to Renfrew via Goshen, then Opeongo Rd, Hwy 132, Lochiel, Pinnacle, Storyland, Castleford (km 58), to hwy 17, Bruce St, etc. to Tim’s on O’Brien (Km 73 – for coffee); home via Whitton, Gillan, LW, Thompson, RR, Stevenson, Braeloch, Campbell Dr to Stinsons for a total distance of approx 103 kms. Ride can be shortened to 65 Kms from Renfrew or 78 Kms from Castleford straight down River Rd..

This route is a nice balance of flats and climbs but none too difficult other than Pinnacle. We have no training goal for Saturday other than to spin the legs and get some kilometres. Plan is to keep the effort moderate.

As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road.

Weather: 19 – 25 C, with a mix of sun and clouds, winds south 15. POP 20%.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.
