May 27/17: 166 Kms; 5 Hrs 21; 1088 Metres; Ten riders.

Well, the Men Aging Fast in Arnprior were in a time warp or was it a worm hole this morning. By that I mean, we were in Pembroke sitting down for brunch before we had actually left Arnprior. How does that happen? But that’s not all, we were back in Arnprior fist pumping before we had actually left brunch. Now, if you think that’s fiction, you just should have been there. The point I’m making is that we were there and back before we knew it. Mind you, the full-inhale of the fusty malodour on Snake Line Road may have temporarily affected my sense of time. Just saying.

Here’s to health and fitness and bonhomie. Sláinte chugat!

Well done to everyone for a splendid ride. Life is good. We have no complaints. How sweet the ride when everything conspires to make it perfect, all the more so when it’s at distance.

Here’s the tentative plan for Sunday:

Meet at Stinsons on White Lake Rd for 7:00 am 7:00 am start and ride to Starbucks on March Rd via Old hwy 17, Galetta, Loggers Way, Kinburn, Diamondview Rd, Donald B Munro, Craig Side Rd, Carp, Old Carp Rd to Starbucks – distance 45 kilometres; home via second line and Stonecrest, perhaps. Your choice. Total ride distance  90 – 100 kms.

This route will have undulation but not so much. Plan is to recover from to-day’s ride but to add some stress to the body to build new muscle and capacity during the rest days.

As usual, it’s steady as she goes, with minimal delays on the road. “A group ride is not a race. If there’s no number on your back, it’s not a race.”

Weather: 14 – 22 C , sunny, winds variable changing to south-west at 10. POP nil.

Caveat: All this subject to change based upon the turnout and the weather and rider consensus.

Ask yourself, where else would you rather be?

“Time Warp”
It’s astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I’ve got to keep control

I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let’s do the time warp again…
Let’s do the time warp again!
