Go Froome Go!

Well, hello. This is your site for weekend ride information. Yes, that’s right; we ride Saturday and Sunday. Who else does that? If you haven’t been out, why not give it a try. But, I’ll warn you now, you’ll be back for more. That’s not bad but it can play havoc with the domestic scene. As for the rides, this time of year, we typically cycle 100 kms on Saturday and 75 – 100 kms on Sunday. That’s more or less, of course; but, you can count on a 150 km weekend for the most part. Don’t be shy!

Okay, let’s get straight to the details –

Here’s the tentative plan for Saturday, assuming winds are from the north-west:

Meet at Stinsons at 7:30 am 7:30 am and ride to Haley Station via River Road to Thompson Rd to Gillan to Hall Ave to Opeongo to S McNaughton to Butler to Hwy 60 (turn left and then right for Haley Station) then down to the Four Corners at the Queensline; home via Story Land and Stevenson, Braeloch, Campbell Dr. etc. for a total distance of approx 100 Kms.

NOTE the Venue and Time: Stinsons 7:30 am, sharp departure.

As usual, the plan is to keep moving, with minimal delays on the road. Bring gels, bars, water, electrolytes, etc. Liquids will be a key element tomorrow.

Temperature will be in the mid to high teens; wind north-west at 15. Who wouldn’t want to ride in that?

As for the ride, this one has some long low-grade climbs but nothing severe, except for the short, steep climb to Story Land.  This is a no coffee ride. You gotta be kidding! But, we’ll stop at the Four Corners, briefly.

Alert: Important information: These are ‘no-drop’ group rides. It’s steady as she goes (conversational style), except for the hills where it’s every man for himself. Regroup at the top. Honest effort required by all. New cyclists welcome.
