Well, hello. I’m back from Mallorca. I can hear the groans already. Did you have to? Well, I did but I’m all pooped-out like one’s bowels on the morning of a colonoscopy. Now, that’s a graphic image. Sorry. It’s been a while since I sat at the keyboard thinking of what to say other than the start time and the route and the coffee stop. But, really, what else do you really want to read about.

I know, Just the facts, ma’am. None of this extraneous stuff. You’re too busy and have no time for fluff.

Okay, I get it. We’ll begin slowly but with verve. There is much to re-discover, such as those quad muscles which have been inactive too long. No problem. We’ll find a hill or two to test the thighs (the inner and the outer). It’s been a long winter and we’ve pinned for the open road. Get me out of the basement, I hear you say. Well, now’s our time to play in the sun. There will be lots of that on Saturday but the air will be cool. Still, cool beats wet, and sun trumps cloud. Plus, we just gotta get out and ride. Right?

Okay, here’s the tentative plan:

Meet at Stinsons  at 9am 9am on White Lake Road and ride to Renfrew for coffee at the Bonnechere Cafe via Russett Dr, #508, Goshen Rd to Gillan to Opeongo to #511; back into Renfrew for coffee; Home via Pinnacle or Bruce St and Castleford, etc. Total distance of 70 – 80 kms+/-. Of course, all this subject to change based upon the turnout and the actual weather, and one’s mood at the time.

FYI, this will be a mid-ride but difficult enough, what with the North wind. Also, giving that it’s early going just a heads-up to everyone to take extra care in the group to avoid spills.

The weather forecast is calling  for lots of sunshine and temperature in the low single digits; winds N at 21+. Dress for the wind chill. Don’t be shy. The important thing is to get out and ride. We need saddle time. It doesn’t have to be pretty as long as we’re moving forward.

Alert: Information about to-day’s ride for new and old, these are ‘no-drop’ group rides. It’s steady as she goes (conversational style) and easy on the legs. If you have had thoughts of joining us and weren’t sure about the pace or the distance, then, here’s your chance. You’ll love it. We all do.

Just a reminder to subscribers that you will get an email alert of any last-minute notifications by 7am or so on ride-mornings. For non-subscribers, please check this blog before leaving home.
