Aug 15/15: 58 Kms; 2 hrs 2; 403 Metres; Eight Riders

Okay, thanks to everyone for coming out this morning. I hope you enjoyed it. It was a sedate ride, after all, with just a modicum of rock and rolling to make it interesting. Isn’t it great to find new roads to cycle. And, while much of our route was familiar, the ride down Peneshula to Cedar Cove was especially fun. There were lots of curves and rollers, and twists and turns on the downward leg, making us think that the return back to Bellamy would be difficult. But, it wasn’t. It was a perfect two-way roller coaster that propelled us at speed up and over the lumps, until we exited (too soon) at Bellamy Rd – where we wished the road had been longer. You just should have been there

On the nature watch, we saw a deer and heard the call of loons. It was a magical echo reminding us of the unseen natural world around us.

Well, the food intake was high and the energy output low this morning as we deliberately conserved effort for tomorrow’s Tour de Bonnechere. All is good. It will be hot and humid in the hills of Brudenell. I hope to see you and to clink glasses, at the end.

Just a reminder, it’s steady as she goes. These are ‘no-drop’ group rides. Weather mid twenties and with high humidity; winds west, south-west at 10.
