Okay, hello.

Time passes and we grow older, imperceptibly at first and then like a waterfall cascading into the abyss.

Still, we cycle in hope of time yet to come; but all in vain, for “the man who made time didn’t make enough of it.” (TM). The sand runs through, as it must. And, we are left to ask why, and to wonder.

At least, I do. But, you need not wonder any longer about Saturday. Here is the tentative plan – two routes because the wind is variable:

Route 1) Meet at Stinsons White Lake Road at 8 am 8 am and ride to Alice’s Cafe via Conc 10, Pakenham, Blakeney, Panmure Rd, etc; home via Thomas Dolan, Stonecrest and Kinburn for a total distance of 98 kms (400 Metres). This tour offers up a lot of new pavement and is an interesting twist on some of our usual circuits. Heck, I may even throw in a surprise (optional) detour on the homeward leg. You just know that you won’t want to miss this one. Hope you can make it.

Or –

Route 2) Meet at Stinsons White Lake 8 am 8 am and ride to Renfrew via Russett Dr to Burnstown to Opeongo Rd to McNaughton to Butler, then up Pinnacle Hill to Garden of Eden Rd to Bruce St to Burnstown and the Neat cafe for coffee; home via #508 or White Lake? Total distance 97 Kms approx, with lots of climbing.

For both routes, it is steady as she goes. And, I mean enjoyable and not hell-bent for leather. Can’t do that anymore. These are group rides. Solo riding is for the week days. Weather 17 C, with winds E/SE of 10; or, at least, it was until I just checked. Wind is now scheduled to be from the west. Looks as if it will be Route 2?

Regarding upcoming Tour Events, Joe has already registered for the 100 km Bonnechere and the 160 km MEC. Who else is interested? We can chat about this on Saturday.

Bonnechere August 16: – details here: http://tourdebonnechere.blogspot.ca/. The last day of registration is August 14.

MEC Cycle August 23. Details here: http://events.mec.ca/event/44386/mec-ottawa-century-ride-2015

Regarding Sunday, we will plan something a little less ambitious. Details tomorrow afternoon. I think in the parlance of the day this weekend will be a “double double.”
