Hello and welcome as we look forward to tomorrow’s ride. We are in luck for reasonable weather with lots of cloud, temperature in the mid teens, and south winds. Overall, that’s fair, I think. Glass half-full and all that for what should be a good test of our fitness and endurance. This will be a 4.5 to 5  hour ride. That’s saddle time. If we keep the stops short, we should be back at Stinsons by 1 pm, more or less. If you can complete the proposed circuit and still have some energy left, you’re almost ready for the RLCT. The distance is less than the RLCT but the altimetry is in the same range. I hope you can join us for what should prove to be a great ride. Now, the details:

Meet at Stinsons at 8am 8am and ride to Almonte-Middleville-Hopetown-Calabogie-Arnprior via Conc 10-Pakenham-Clayton Side Rd-Tatlock Rd-Wolf Grove, etc for a total distance of 130 kms (round trip Stinsons to Stinsons). The first official stop is Hopetown (for water), then Calabogie (briefly), and then Burnstown (for coffee after 115 kms); otherwise, it is straight home via #508 and Russett.

Description of Route: Long and hilly; Pace: Steady Eddie. Goal is to keep on the move and to stay together – as always.

You may want to bring bars, gels, and liquid (whatever works for you) so you can fuel as you ride. Experiment now not on the RLCT.

Okay, bye bye, ac. Comments always welcome at arnpriorcycling@bell.net; http://www.twitter.com/ArnpriorCycling

It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
