April 25/15: 86 Kms; 3 Hrs; 500 Metres; Six Riders – MG, PR, KO, JG, PD, HC

And so it begins, the long road to fitness. Having said that, many of the lads this morning had lots of ‘jam’. It seems these guys don’t age or lose fitness. So what if they haven’t been riding for several months. Doesn’t matter. Youth, genes, talent, I guess. I could do with that. Time tells its sorry tale too soon.

Well, once we got going, it wasn’t so bad. The wind was mostly cross-wind and Perry and Keith did most of the up-front riding. That helped, a lot. The ride home was ever so sweet, even sweeter than the brownie at the Bonnechere Cafe. I just should have ordered a bowl of sugar. Won’t do that again. Still, the sugar worked for Pinnacle Hill. It wasn’t all bad news. We arrived back at Stinsons fist pumping the effort and vowing to do it all again on Sunday.

Here is the tentative plan:

Meet at Stinsons at 9 am; Ride to Renfrew via Division Street and RR to Castleford to Tims; Ride to Burnstown via the lamas at Goshen Road to #508; home via McLeoad and MacLaughlin, Creekside, Stewartville, etc. Some climbing again tomorrow. Steady but sure. Total distance estimated to be < 75 Kms. It is Sunday after all.

Weather forecast is for 5 C at 9 am; winds NW 14.

No idea who will be out, if anyone. Will you? I’ll be at the coffee bar as per usual.

Seen on the Road: Gregg and Karen finishing their ride as we rode in to Stinsons.

Okay, bye, bye. ac. Comments welcome at arnpriorcycling@bell.net; http://www.twitter.com/ArnpriorCycling
