Right, I received an email from young John Stuart asking for our help. John is an official West Quebec Wheeler club member and is enrolled in their young racers programme. John races throughout Ontario. This Sunday, he will be racing a criterium on Preston St.

John has asked Perry to sell WQW hats ($20) on his behalf. The funds from these hats will help defray John’s racing travel and accommodation costs.  If you would like to help John, please buy a hat from Perry for this purpose.

Okay, hello. I’m not sure who is in town this weekend. The proposed cycle to Quyon on Sunday is off because the Ferry has delayed its start-up date. I’m thinking of heading to Douglas on Saturday. This will take us down some new roads. I had thought of joining the OBC ride to Beachburg from Renfrew but one must be a member to ride with them. Also, they start at 9.30 am. That’s a bit late, I think. So, all said and done, this is the tentative plan:

Venue: Stinsons on White Lake Road at 7.30 am 7.30 am

Route: Douglas via Renfrew and Stone Road; Coffee at Tim’s or Bonnechere Bakery, after 80+ kms

Distance: 100 Kms approx; 400 Metres+/-; Pace: steady as she goes

Weather: cool with strengthening winds from the nw

Caveat: Route and distance subject to change if only a few riders show up at Stinsons

FYI, there  will be two rides on Sunday: One at 7.30/8 am and the alternative Ride with Gregg is scheduled for Sunday starting at 9 am. For those interested, please contact Gregg at gwsheehy@magma.ca
