Hello, on a rainy Friday afternoon. How many times have you heard that refrain? Too many. Yes, when the good earth is thirsty, man must take shelter; or dress for the downpour. For, the rain will pass, (as the sage said long ago about all things). One day becomes another soon enough. The baby becomes a boy, the boy a youth and the youth a man; and, the man too soon is old and weakened by infirmities, with a failing memory of former glory; spoon fed, numb, crumpled, alone, and forgotten. But all of that is down some winding road a long way off, isn’t it? So, we ride to maintain and restore the vigour, to interrupt the inevitable ineffable end. But, hey, while it lasts, for a fortunate few, it’s a ride, right!

Okay, here is the tentative plan (hope you like it):

Venue: Old Orchard Estates (email me if unsure)

Time: 7.30 am 7.30 am 7.30 am (you will thank me later)

Route: Arnprior – Pembroke – Arnprior; Distance: 170 Kms; (long and hilly); Lunch at The Truck Stop

Pace/Effort: Steady as she goes; Weather: 12-21 C, with west and nw winds and the possibility of rain
