May 18/14: Nine riders; 107 Kms; 448 Metres; 3 Hrs 47.

Howdy, who would have thought we would get three days without rain. Not this Spring! It’s cold, yes, but it’s getting better, isn’t it? To-day, we took the pace off a bit to compensate for tired legs and general fatigue. Still, we didn’t dally, especially after coffee at Tim’s, when we rode at a good clip down  Castleford Road and River Road to the Valley Carver. This was all due to Marcel and Rob, who tapped out a steady rhythm – a thing of beauty. Is there really a nicer stretch of rural road for cycling with a tail wind than Castleford Rd to RR? You just should have been there. And, you can on Monday when we cut the distance and the pace even more.

Nice to see Kelly this morning, and Eric. Thanks to the strong riders for thinking of the group and modulating the pace as required. Much appreciated.

Okay, here is the plan for Monday: (note the change in venue)

Venue: Canadian Tyre parking lot on Daniel at 8 am 8 am

Route: Almonte via Dwyerhill Rd; home via Blakeney; Distance 70 Kms

Pace: RECOVERY RIDE – spin, chat, coffee

Description of Route: Flat and boring down Dwyerhill but pleasant enough on the homeward journey

Weather: cool with winds from the w and nw. That means a headwind on the return trip, yikes!

Okay, bye bye. ac. arnpriorcycling@bell.net; http://www.twitter.com/ArnpriorCycling
