September 07: 49.7 Kms; 1 Hr 48 Min Saddle Time; 242 Metres; 1856 Calories. Jeff, Mark, Rob, Kevin.

Okay, so it was raining or rather spitting as we left the Neat Cafe for the last twenty-two kms on the homeward leg of this morning’s ride. We almost beat the rain; almost but not quite. And, thanks to Rob’s strong efforts at the front we made short work of the distance. In the end, while there was some damp on the road, there was no dampening the spirits of the riders. It was all good, even if it meant that i was at my limit, having been off the bike for the last three weekends. No excuses but I was happy to make the final turn on Russett towards Stinsons. Also, the short ride to-day suited me well, given my fitness level and the prospect of heavier rain in the forecast. Earlier, on the White Lake Road to Burnstown, Jeff and Rob put on a clinic of steady riding, shoulder to shoulder as in equine unison, as they pulled us along towards coffee at the Neat Cafe. You just should have been there. And, you can tomorrow–

Okay, for Sunday, we will meet at Stinsons at 8 am 8 am (note the time change); Route to Alice’s Cafe in Carp, I think. Forecast is for a twenty-five km North Wind; Distance 75 –that’s a guess. Hope to see you there. Be prepared for a cool if not a cold ride. Remember, we still have the Tour des Ponts on October 05: www.wqwheelers.com/
