Okay, you may have noticed that some of the blog pages were out of chronological order this week. This has since been corrected. All is now well thanks to a member of the blog community who sent me a fix. I guess ”information just wants to be free” at a cost, of course. But–not this time. Many thanks to the chap who helped me out.

As for dead reckoning, one can only project the next change in the weather, since meteorologists are all at sea in their forecasts these days, which seem to have a high percentage of error. Still, I’m ready to post now that we will ride to Renfrew on Saturday. Here is the plan:

Stinsons 8 am 8 am; Route–Flat Rapids to Stewartville, #508 to Burnstown to Renfrew to Opeongo Rd to McNaughton to Butler to Hwy 60 to Pinnacle (up up and up) to Garden of Eden to Bruce to the Renfrew Bakery for coffee (64 kms into the ride); home via Hall and Whitton and Lochwinnoch, etc. Total distance approx 96 kms, with 400 metres of climbing.

We are riding for distance and not speed. This is what Joe Friel has to say: ”For regular improvement, the best approach to training is to do the least amount of the most appropriate training at the right times.” Okay, many of the powerful lads will be away. Not sure who is about. Hope to see you, if you can make it. Expect we will ride all three days this weekend–100 kms Sat, 75-100 Sun, 60 kms Mon. You will just have to be there–rain or shine.

Okay, a couple of bits of news: Kudos to Mel Porter, a local chap in his mid seventies, who has raised $60 K over the years for MS. Mel rides the MS Tour every August. Last year he raised $10k. Well done Mel and congratulations on the new bicycle. Keep on riding. If you see Mel, why not make a donation.

Also, check out this link (thanks to Kevin): http://www.flickr.com/photos/63567936@N00/8991950614/ Great action shot.

Lastly, always check the blog first thing before leaving home on the weekends in case of any last-minute changes in the venue and start time, wind direction, etc.

Okay, regards. hc Comments always welcome at arnpriorcycling@bell.net
